Unsist Winding Down
Last June marked 16 months since I started Unsist with my co-founder Roi, and also marks the conclusion and winding down of our incredible journey.
Make no mistake, we were successful in raising a pre-seed round at NextAI ($50,000), surviving CDL, generating revenue, and were even featured on multiple media outlets. We're proud of the community that rallied around Unsist and feel very privileged to have played a small part in changing the landscape in energy innovation.
Thank you everyone for the opportunities, guidance, feedback and continual support! I really couldn't have done it without a community at my back.
What's next
Although this marks the end of a chapter, I'm still very driven by the Unsist ethos (and definition) to never stop. Wherever I go next, I'll be stronger, smarter and hungrier to make this world a little better.
For the time being, I'm taking a few months off to recharge, reflect on what I've learned, and refine the direction of my career. Likely, I will pursue an opportunity to build awesome products at a high-growth startup in Toronto, but I'll have more clarity after my trip to Europe through London, Athens and Rome.
It seems as if Europe has a creative effect on people, from Howard Schultz's visit to Milan, Italy that redefined Starbucks, to Travis Kalanick and Garrett Camp's meeting in Paris, France that sparked the idea of Uber.
During my trip, I'll keep an open mind to learn from vibrant experiences and unique worldviews, while I visit 3 influential cultures that shaped Western civilization into what it is today. I'll be unplugged from internet and social media while in Europe, so if I don't get back to you right away, now you'll know why!
It's the journey that counts, not the destination
Growth isn't about moving forward along a predefined path. Life has its twists and turns, and you learn from each step, no matter the direction. Unsist has been an extraordinary experience in my life, and I look forward to what's next.
